Callala Beach runs for more than five kilometres along the northern shore of Jervis Bay, the longest beach on the bay. Powder-white sand, clear turquoise water, and long stretches where the only thing behind the dunes is bushland.
It’s a suburb for people who want space and a beach walk that doesn’t end. Homes sit a short stroll from the sand, with Callala Bay village at one end and Myola at the other.
Prices in Callala Beach have held steady around the $1.2m mark for the past three years, with 172 buyers watching a market that had just eight houses for sale last month. Houses here rent for a median of $595 a week, a yield of 3.4%.

Callala Beach is a houses-only market, with no units to speak of. Even two-bedroom homes sit above $1m here, which tells you what buyers are paying for: land, privacy and the beach at the end of the street. Expect a mix of original beach houses, larger family homes and newer builds, many doing double duty as holiday rentals through summer.
Most days start on the sand. The beach is made for long walks and early swims, and at the northern end a rocky reef shelters a small creek inlet that turns into a calm swimming hole at high tide. The reserve behind it has picnic tables, barbecues and plenty of shade.
At the southern end, the Husky Ferry leaves from Myola for Huskisson. The shops and Club Callala are five minutes away in Callala Bay, Nowra about twenty. Sydney is just over two hours north.
